Após ter sua estreia adiada, Missão: Impossível 7 tem uma nova data de lançamento, dia 19 de novembro de 2021, e o filme sequência – Missão: Impossível 8, foi alterado para 4 de novembro de 2022.

Além de Tom Cruise, o elenco tem retorno confirmado de Rebecca Ferguson e Simon Pegg. Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) e Pom Klementieff (Guardiões da Galáxia Vol. 2) também já foram anunciadas no elenco.

Christopher McQuarrie dirigirá ambas as continuações. McQuarrie é o único diretor da franquia a retornar para um segundo filme, após assumir Efeito Fallout. O sexto Missão: Impossível arrecadou US$ 791 milhões no mundo inteiro, e recebeu o prêmio de Melhor Filme de Ação no Critics’ Choice Awards.
